The Rams draw their first game of pre-season despite a strong performance

link to my Club Website report.

The Rams maintained their unbeaten pre season with a one all draw last Tuesday away to Cove.

Summerhill made multiple changes to his starting eleven, including Harry Tremlett. Tremlett had a man of the match performance and was responsible for the best chance of the half. Nipping in and heaving his way through the defense but his shot went narrowly wide.

Both sides played good football in the first half but couldn’t get the final pass right leading to many wasted opportunities.

Cove boss changed most of his squad during the break and this lead to new life in the home side. They turned their pressure into a well taken goal not long into the half. A long ball was swung in from the half way line and taken on the volley by their number eleven.

The Rams didn’t have to wait long for the equaliser, substitute Gari Judd getting involved by blocking a clearance leaving the ball to fall kindly to Tremlett who took a couple of touches before stroking home into the bottom corner.

Petersfield should have won the game showing excellent attacking football and a good high press. Their efforts were rewarded with a penalty as Judd was tripped after a high ball. Debutant Carel Kayembe stepped up but his spot kick was well saved.

The visitors couldn’t find the winner despite showing good quality all over the pitch.

Mark Summerhill will undoubtably be very happy with his team as multiple subs were made during the game only to strengthen the squad. The Rams next game is away to Farnham on Saturday.
